Protection
Prevention is better than cure. When you purchase a new accent chair it is always recommended that you have the fabric protected. We offer soil and stain treatment, water repellant treatment and fire retardant treatment. By adding a layer of protection to the fabric of your new chair you can rest assured that if, and when an accident occurs your fabric will not be damaged.
The protective treatments against stains and water will coat the fabric so that liquid is easily wiped off without soaking in and causing stains and unsightly water marks. The fire retardant protection offers peace of mind that the fabric is non-combustible.
Vacuum Regularly
In order to keep your chair in top condition you must ensure that your chair is kept free of crumbs and dirt. Vacuuming your chair regularly will remove any debris and freshen up the cushions. Ensure that you get into all the nooks and crannies.
Clean Carefully
Your chair shouldn’t require cleaning very frequently. If you do feel it requires freshening up you should proceed with caution. Always check your fabric type and cleaning recommendations. There are a plethora of cleaning products on the market that make many promises. It is best to choose a mild product, you can even use a soap free, fragrance free shower gel.
- Dilute your cleaning product in a bowl of water
- Using a soft cloth or sponge soak it and wring it out well- you will only want to use a damp cloth, avoid getting the fabric wet. Always dab and don’t rub.
- Leave the fabric to air dry
Wooden Legs and Frames
The frame of your chair will also require some cleaning. Be careful when vacuuming not to catch the wooden legs of your chair as this can chip the wood. Polish the wood frequently with a microfibre cloth. You can use a furniture polish designed for wood but avoid using disinfectant sprays as these will remove the wood stain. If you find a mark that is difficult to remove, try mild soapy water.
If you follow these tips you will find that your brand new chair looks great for years to come.
