With Summer on the way we thought we would share with you our top five tips for creating the perfect outdoor living space, so make sure you keep reading.

Alfresco Dining Is A Must

Creating a beautiful outdoor dining area is a must when hosting outdoor social events. Alfresco dining can sometimes be a scary concept if your outdoor space is dull and worn but by adding small pops of colour and modern design, you will be able to transform yours and your guests' alfresco dining experience. The first step is to make sure you have a comfortable and spacious base. A large table with comfortable seating is a must for a magical dining experience.

Try adding a pop of colour with a cushion or two. Adding colourful cushions to a dull space is an easy way to uplift a boring area and is also a great talking point over dinner!

Make Sure To Provide Comfortable Seating

In order to create a comfortable space you must first assess the space you are working with. Like any other room in your home you need to carefully assess the space you have available before jumping into buying any materials or furniture. Once you have the measurements down, try to include a combination of loungers, beanbags and floor cushions along with your formal seating to provide a space for guests to unwind and enjoy the gorgeous weather together.

Opt For Water Resistant Fabrics

We are all praying for a gorgeous Summer but we know that isn’t always guaranteed, especially if you are reading this from the UK! Outdoor cushions, throws and seating areas should often be brought inside once used to avoid mould and damp building up overnight but a great way to further protect your gorgeous soft furnishings from the unpredictable weather is to opt for a water resistant fabric. Covering your pillows and cushions in water repellent material will give you that extra bit of time to protect your outdoor space from the harsh weather.

Incorporate Your Interior Style Into Your Outdoor Space

Make your outdoor space look like the work of an interior designer by adding subtle elements from your home’s interior into your outdoor space. Creating this stylish and sophisticated look can be very easy to achieve if you follow these simple steps.

1. Stick to a colour palette - if your interior is predominantly green you will want to incorporate a range of green hues in your outdoor space. Bold pops of colour are great and help to create a unique and cosy interior but by having a base colour your interior will look flawlessly perfected!

2. Consider the materials used - another simple, yet overlooked, way at creating the perfect transition between your indoor interior and outdoor space is to consider using materials that are a common theme throughout your home. If your home is a very light and airy space you may want to consider using linen or a light chenille for your outdoor soft furnishings to create the perfect finish.

Don't Forget To Accessorise

Just like inside your home, accessories can make or break a space. There are many weather friendly options to choose from such as planters, artwork and decor items that will help to add personalisation to your space. We also love the use of floor lights and fairy lights to keep the party going, even when the sun does start to disappear!
