Interior Design Trends For 2026

Interior Design Trends For 2026

The new year is here and along with it, the opportunity to revamp your home with the interior trends of 2026. Whether that be with bold patterns and dusty jewel tones or pastels, 2026 is the year to embrace your personal style and reflect that through your chosen interiors.

Beyond Beige & Grey

The era of cool neutrals is drawing to a close and interior designers are officially saying goodbye to greys and beige, replacing them with warmer and richer tones. Whilst Pantone crowned their minimalistic white ‘Cloud Dancer’ as colour of the year, the interior design world is staging a quiet rebellion. Designers are predicting something entirely different for living spaces due to homeowners craving spaces that feel lived-in and authentically personal. Jen Baxter of Baxter Hill Interiors predicts palettes with “more depth and a continuing shift toward earthy, organic mid-tones: chalky rose, smoky blue, tobacco brown, dusty olive, sunbaked terracotta, soft charcoal. Colours that feel timeworn - like they already belong to the house”.

“Out with the old and in with the new”

In a world of fast fashion and rotating trends, home owners are gravitating towards interiors that will withstand the test of time - therefore the upholstery fabrics they choose need to do the same.  In 2026 there will be a major shift from the disposable mindset that has dominated consumer culture over the previous years. Instead of refreshing interiors every few seasons, whether that be cushions, curtains or sofas, homeowners are investing in pieces that improve with age rather than deteriorate, allowing them to become a permanent fixture within the home.

With that in mind, expect to see natural linens that soften and crease beautifully with use, weave textures that add visual richness but also enhance comfort, velvets that resist marks and adapt well to light. Each of these fabrics offer a different effect within the home but all of them compliment that ‘lived-in’ feeling that consumers are gravitating towards.

As advocates for bringing unique fabrics and soft furnishing to the market, Yorkshire Fabric Shop encourages you to embrace your personal style no matter what trends we see this upcoming year. Throughout 2026, there will be a constant flow of new additions to our fabric collections that will allow you to achieve all the visions you have for your home but in the meantime, take a look at our latest collections that are available here and now.
